It sounds like the UFC plans to pay the man:Filipovic, the No. 2 heavyweight in the world behind PRIDE champion Fedor Emelianenko (Pictures), would make an immediate impact on a division that has long been considered among the weakest in the UFC. Terms are not known, but it's expected Fillipovic, 32, could sign one of the most expensive multi-fight deals in UFC history. If that last part is true, then just imagine what Mirko will do in the UFC. He's going to dominate the UFC heavy weight division.

This is Timothys big chance to prove he can fight and beat top tier opponents. Personally if I was him , I would be crying myself to sleep .
You never know Tim might surprise us?
Either way, this is amazing news, just wish he got to fight Fedor again. Come on Dana get him over too!!

what's up with Tim not signed to a contract and negotiating to see if he will remain? from the same article. That would hurt if your current HW
Champ walks away.

It's not something the UFC isn't used to. They have a history of their champs walking away from titles for more money. Couture, Pulver, Bustamante. I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now. That's why I think too many people overvalue the actual title. Some fighters do like to have more money. And this is their career and I don't blame them. It kind of sucks sometimes but life goes on.
But saying that I think Timothy really really really LOVES that title. Maybe a little too much, so I'm sure he'll re-sign, though he did threaten to walk away if he would have had to fight before Tito. So I guess you never know.

Very good news...maybe I wont despise this division as much...although the HW division still needs some serious work...Having Cro Crop is a step in the right direction…

Book it, Cro Cop will kill Timmy. He doesn't even need the high kick to do it, he's just an all around superior striker. He could drop him with a low kick, and uppercut, or a liver kick. I really don't see any way Tim could win a matchup with Cro Cop.

That's awesome news. Finally the HW division is filling out with more fighters. Can't wait to see his impact on the UFC.

I wonder if they will announce this on Inside the UFC?
There was no mention of it at the UFN

I love seeing the best fights with the best fighters and now we'll finally see that.
Wanderlei rumors all over San Jose here.
AKA has a couple a guys who know a couple of guys who say Cung Le is coming to the UFC to fight McCullough and Fedor might follow Cro Cop.
I love all the rumors. Because so far, they've all come true.
It's great training next to three major camps. You hear everything and just wait.
