BJ Penn vs Jens Pulver
these two will be the coaches of the tuf 5 cast
and it is rumored that they will fight at the tuf 5 finale
bj as a lightweight is very exciting and im sure he will not gas if he will be forced 2 spend his time in the gym being a coach for the tuf cast

I haven't seen Jens fight at all recently, aside from the Lauzon disaster, can't really base anything on that. Regardless, it's really hard to vote against BJ in any LW match. This should be a great fight, and i'm extremely excited it will be for free.

Every single point I got from FF will go to BJ for this particular match up with Jens Pulver, if it ever happened. Not a BJ fan, but it is a lopsided match up. Nothing against Jens Pulver either.

I think it will be a great fight since they fought before, and I honestly think BJ will win this fight if it is true that Pulver and Penn will fight in the finale.

Ya I agree. IMO Pulver isnt nearly as good as he once was. With that said this still has potential to be a pretty good fight.

I dont think we should judge Pulvers skill based on his last fight... Pulver clearly had Joe Lauzon underestimated. Maybe he didnt prepare enough for that fight.
I think we will see a different pulver if he fights a guy with the level of skill as bj.
I think this could be a though match for bj and i am no so certain that he will come out on top.
I still hold bj as a slight favourite but i wont be suprised if pulver come out the winner.

I think this will be an awesome fight, and I think that BJ Penn will probably be victorious. BJ is still very tough and if Jens even thinks once about underestimating Penn it will be a very bad night for him.

i don't feel it had alot to do with preparing, he just came it too overconfident and like you said, he underestimated joey.
I think the future for joey is going to be very poor. that ko is gonna boost his ego into another orbit that it is not ready for. he is in for pure humiliation.

I wonder if the winner will fight Sean Sherk. I would like to see BJ and Sean throw down. I would have to go with BJ on that one...

definitly going with sherk in five of the slowest rounds of my life... no way i think either of these guys could beat sherk... i do however think most of the lw division stands a great chance against sherk

Really think Sherk can take him? Reason I think BJ is that he is a much better striker and he is just crazy when you get him on his back. He is so flexible he can be dangerous even when in full guard.

Had to repeat those, 'cause they're borderline insane.

what has bj or jens done as of late? stop living in the past... except that bj hasnt won a fight in the ufc in this run... nor has jens... shrek is way to strong of a grappler for either of them...at lw every time bj went for a sub he would slamed... being slamed would make him gas instantly.... face it... they are both over the hill... and yes its exciting to see them fight still... but their prime has past and they wont hold a belt any time again in the ufc.

Took GSP to a split decision and almost choked out Matt Hughes - that's what BJ has done recently.
If you just look at his record and not at the fights, sure, BJ hasn't done much, but then if that's how you roll... I think the UFC should just start announcing fights and then then the winners/losers to save you the trouble. Then we can all debate who would win the next fight based on records and maybe occassionally the UFC can throw us an underdog win and we can go "Oh man, I didn't think Sanchez would lose that one, he was 20 - 0 and has fought tough competition while Penn is 10 - 4 and fat." This would also make it easier for the fighters, as they wouldn't have to risk being injured by stepping into the Octagon, or train for that matter. Only records should matter when determining how well a fighter fights, not his actual performance in those fights.
