BJ Penn is the second coach for TUF 5
http://ocregister.com/ocregister/spo...le_1384847.php
Both coaches have finally been confirmed after it being rumoured for so long. I am especially interested in seeing Penn coach.

This is fantastic news. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Penn's personality. I assume he'll fight Pulver at the end, then hopefully go after the LW belt before he goes back to rematch with GSP.
Nimmy, you're being a jackass.

This should be very interesting, I used to like Penn, and I still think he is a very good fighter, but TBH a lot of that simply comes from his freakish flexability, and how he is able to use it.
I know it's BS because they edit the shows to make guys look however they want for the most part (which is odd they chose to air Hughes being a bit of a dick). Regardless the extra 'get to know them' time is always good.

I'm not buying that. They edited the show to show the highlights, and one of the common highlights through two seasons was Hughes being a dick.
The editing just shows what the fighters and coaches said, the value judgement is made by the viewer. I went into Season 2 liking Hughes and came out disliking him, and it's gotten worse since then, only partly due to TUF. The rest was due to Matt Hughes interviews and inflammatory statements.

I'm sure that was the original plan, a number one contender match. But Pulver losing his debut was a monkey wrench they didn't expect. I'm hoping the winner still gets Sherk, but if not it would still be great to see Penn as a LW for a while.

i still think they can pull off a pulver\penn #1 contender match.... pulver is so established and was the uncrowned champ when he came back.. he also already fought BJ very well, so a rematch would be great

I hope they actually show the coaches more this season. On season four I often times forgot randy and gsp were even on the show. I have a better feeling about this season than the last one.

Yeah, this is cool. So, Penn will be fighting LW for at least most of next year. That should make for some interesting matches starting with Pulver-Penn. I would like to see the winner of that fight Joe Stevenson or Kenny Florian. And, the winner of that match would get the title shot.

Boomer, I am with you on that. I liked Hughes a lot more before TUF 4. I know he was Dana's golden boy, which is why I was shocked to see them air the restaraunt crap (along with some other BS he was saying).

I agree. The winner of a Penn-Pulver match is a legitimate contender.
When it comes right down to it, the UFC can do whatever they want. Since they don't recognize the #1 contender position, it doesn't really matter. They give the title shot to whomever they like.

Awesome!!! I think it will be interesting to meet Penn, I wonder how he trains. I don't question his technique, but fitness... I think ( and here comes the onslaught of disagreement.) that Penn beat GSP in there fight, and I am a big GSP fan!!! If a fighter wins a decision I thought was unjust I am not afraid to say it. Pulver vs Penn II will be awesome!!!

Penn vs Pulver would be a sick free fight, which could get a lot of much deserved attention brought to the lw division.

With LW Fighters on it, it's bound to be better than 4. I am interested to see the new LW talent.

Yeah, but if they're all new guys, it's gonna be the same drama.
I hate you, you suck, i beat you at KOTC 3, you stole that one from me, you cheated, I have a bigger #!!@# than you! You're gay, you fight gay, I hate you. I'm leaving the show because a friend of a friend of a friend said my girlfriend is cotemplating cheating on me even though I have no proof she has yet or not, so I'm leaving.
Give me my asparagus back. You're gay. I'm going to pee on your gear. You suck, BJ sucks, Jens sucks. I could take both coaches on, Let's get drunk and punch a door and break a knuckle so I can't fight. You suck. Oh dude, there's a camera, there were cameras in jail, I feel like I'm in jail, I'm quitting.
Sorry, but above is just a summary representation so far of the fighters attitudes in the first 4 seasons and it's already getting old.
All we'll have now is a lW division of the same stuff!
But I'll still watch.
