Dana did not chose Justin Eilers over Paul Buentello to get the title shot. Paul was not medically cleared to fight when the main event was put together. He became medically cleared at a later date and was then added to the card against Kevin Jordan.
It's quite as simple as telling Dana to open his pocketbook and get some Pride HW fighters to fight in the UFC. Those guys are under contract with Pride so if Pride doesn't want to send them, they don't fight, PERIOD.
Lastly, no the UFC doesn't make so much. They have just recently started making significant amounts of money from events. There was a time not very long ago that UFC was actually losing money overall.

i am aware that paul wasnt medically cleared, he still remains a VERY VERY weak oppenent as the #1 contender. pride fighters are under contract, but how many fighters has the UFC lured from pride??? no one significant... pride now has vitor and baroni...
you are out of your mind if you dont think UFC makes a ton of money... how can you possibly argue that. im not sure how to respond because you havent looked at the Pay per view #s or the TUF results. NEVERMIND the rest of their sales and lack of liabilities.
Lastly while these pride fighters are NOW under contract, the UFC has had chances as the contracts have run out to steal a few of their fighters and have failed. i love the UFC roster, it just could be a lot better. thats my only point as is the point that paul\andrei is an awful main event...
