joelrz13, I'm afraid you really do not know what you are talking about. Like LastExit and Aika have said UFC has been around much longer than you are aware and I just thought I would add it was banned in a lot of states to hold the events. It used to be almost taboo. People would look at them like it was death matches. I used to not be able to watch them because my mom wouldn't let me get them because they had Parental Advisory stickers on them and since I was only 13 she made me stick to Pancrase. (only kidding, I still like Pancrase) UFC has only been recently a success and while it will continue to grow so will Pride. About UFC being able to take any Pride fighter...Why would Mark Kerr say he would rather fight in Pride than do Pro-Wrestling? Because they have a butt load of money to spend on their fighters. UFC doesn't yet. Pride has a very big fanbase and it isn't hard for them to gain new fans, they are just under-exposed in the US, but with the new deal with FSN it will be exciting for MMA fans to be able to enjoy Pride as well as UFC events on cable TV. Another thing you need to remember is that the UFC doesn't keep every single dollar that comes in from the PPV's. I don't know the figures so I'm not going to try and make it sound like I do. I know for a fact that they don't get to keep $34.95 out of every PPV ordered. How would they pay the cable companies, and provide all the celebrities all the fancy things they need to survive (I'm being facetious here, I don't know that they actually do this, usually events like this do pamper celebrities). That's all I got. Just had to add my two cents.
