Its also worth noting that he hasnt been beaten since his last Pride loss (his loss at ROTR was down to him misunderstanding the rules and using an illegal kick which KO'd Okami).
He's also gone on to beat the #1 ranked MW in the world in his 2nd UFC match so how he can be 'overrated' is beyond me, what more do you have to do to be justifiably rated?

I think Franklin was #4 at best.

I actually think for a while when he was still champ, he actually was #1 or #2.
(That's the ranking he got, not my opinion. IMO he should have been lower.)

that was my thought, just he won two fights against someone who made a mistake and someone he was a perfect match for and now he's a god?
i'm not saying that people on this forum say he is, but i hear it a lot.

I think that he doesn't get the respect that he deserves.I don't see anybody taking his belt from him for a while.

I dont get how people come up with the name GSP in iether category... GSP is consider by almost all to be one of the best WW ever.
So how is he underrated... and some of you have him as overrated... so you clearly havent seen his fights or what?
Overrated: Jardine, Forest and Rashad.
Underrated: Bisping, Franca, Marquardt(probably not on FF tho, he seems to be popular here)

Overated: Joe Riggs..all he talks about is how superier his strikeing game is and how much its evolved, havent seen much yet but everyone still pulls for him. He's way overated.
Underated: Deigo Sanchez, Gsp. Deigo I see alot of potential in, doesent get much credit though. Gsp is the future of the UFC, young, strong, already beat the most dominant fighter in the welterweight division, way too underated.

Please forgive my absentmindedness,
I should have mentioned...
Ken Shamrock is, by far, the most over rated fighter I can think of (can't punch to save his life).
Incidentally, I think Thiago Alves has shown alot of potential.

Back when GSP was largely unkown, I was completely in awe of his skill. I would chuckle to my self (during his early fights) and say out loud, "Damn, he is so good." He seems to be getting the respect he deserves lately, though. However, people who entertain the possiblility of fighters like Diego or Kos beating him seem way off base. People who believe that Kos or Diego would actually challenge Pierre seem completely ignorant of Pierre's past fights. St. Pierre has beat fighters far better than Diego in a completely one-sided fashion (e.g. Trigg, Sherk). Simply put, I consider GSP to be unrated until he is widely considered the best P4P fighter in the world. P.S. I don't strongly disagree with those who think Penn is the best -Penn is a very gifted athelete indeed.
Thanks for the reply,
J.W.

i think it's that he's too stupid and only trained things he was good at rather than improve what he lacked (ground skills)
