Title Bout at UFC 70?
Last time I checked the rumors page on mmaweekly there are 9 rumored fights. Now this is usually how many they show on normal UFC events but the thing was that there was no Title match. Does anyone know what they are planning to do with this PPV?

Yeah Im hoping they'll bring Anderson over to defend his title for 70. It makes sense really...he's going to want to have a title defense after Lutter not making weight, and he's already well known over here from being the Cage Rage champ.
There's going to be HW and WW title defenses at 68 and 69 and Im pretty sure both Chuck and Sherk are out until the summer with injuries so it would be sensible to have a MW title fight for 70.

Silva would be great for the fans there. And I don't think he hurt himself too much against Lutter. If he was sore from his knee injury he should be good for 70 still.
The question is who would they match with him? Actually my preferance would be to see Louseau and Silva. Too bad that won't happen now.

I think Nate Marquadt will probably get the next shot, or maybe Swick.

Anderson Silva makes perfect sense for UFC 70. The timing is right for a second title defence. Silva's very well known in Europe because of his past bouts in Pride, and especially Cage Rage. I have to think that the UFC is working on this, as it's so obvious. The only question mark is Silva's knee injury.

The "Five Ounces of Pain" blog did have a rumor release today that CroCop will be fighting at UFC 70. I don't know if it will be a title shot, but it makes logical sense to have him fight there.
Edit: I also just saw that CroCop is listed at UFC 70 on MMAWeekly as well.

With the title holders getting hurt like they did there is only like 2 belts in play right now till GSP is ready to fight.
So they probably won't have a title fight unless they want Silva to fight again if he can by then.
Cro Cop would be a good fill in for a non title main event and they could have a big #1 contender event and have top guys from all the weight classes fight for title shots.

If they do put out Anderson then it will have to be Nate that he is fighting because Swick will be fighting at UFC 69. Great matchup IMO.

well... it's only 2 weeks after 69, so that does put a damper on title shots.

I would bet that Silva will be fighting against Marquardt and Dana said Crocop wont be fighting for the title at 70. That makes sense becasue Sylvia/Couture are fighting in March at 68 so they wouldnt have enough time to prepare for a fight in April.

is ufc 70 the one that they are putting on HBO? If so, they might not have a title match because its not a ppv?

I'd say we're looking at a middleweight title fight, as was suggested two posts above me. I suppose with all the LHW's on the card, Liddell is a possibility.
