Then explain Whoopi Goldber. She openly admitted stealing (she said borrowing) from Richard Pryor. She said it to HIS FACE that all her work was based on his work. Guess what he did? He loved it. He said that he was flattered. Comics have been stealing from each other since the beginning. This is not new. Comedy Central gave Mencia a TV show. They surely knew where he was coming from.
The scene with Bobby Lee looked like it was right outside the club. I could be wrong, but it looked like Joe Rogan had on the same clothes. I will watch it again.
Anyway, if I were Mencia, then I would sue Rogan and the Comedy Club for allowing Rogan to take the stage and ruin the act. Mencia obviously was not getting paid to argue with Rogan.
By the way, Jay Leno used the Mexicans building the wall joke as well. He never gave credit to anybody for it.
I am not a fan of Mencia exactly. I watched a few episodes of his show. There certainly was plenty of material there that was not stolen.
EDIT: I rewatched. The material with Lee was older. That is ture. So, I did not watch closely enough the first time.
