R.I.P. Captain America. (comic book character)
I was pretty surprised to hear that Captain America, who first appeared in comic books in 1941, was killed off in todays issue of the comic. It seems he's shot and killed while leaving a court house. Marvle comics says that there is a movie in the works for Captain America but Im still surprised that such a namesake in comicbooks was just up and killed off. I know that Superman was supposedly killed as well but he came back, as about everyone knew he would. I have to admit that I havent followed the Captain America comic as close as I did when I was young. I think it will be real interesting to see if they try to keep the comic going and possibly bring him back in later issues somehow.
P.S. I know a lot of you probably could care less but I thought this was fairly big news as far as the comic book community is concerned.

It all depends on if they keep the comic going. If it ends here i will be very suprised. Not so much a favorite among the current young generation. But you've got 3 or 4 older generations that lived for that guy.

He'll be back, they'll take a page out of the Superman saga and have him come back in a few months. Superman was killed fighting Doomsday and in my opinion it's one of the greatest comic series out there, and definetly helped the franchise when sales were low.

I could never get into captain america.
Something about his costume was a little too loud. I know they're the US colors and all, but still. I dont know.
And what exactly did Captain America do except have that retarded shield and motorcycle?
One superhero that never gets enough respect IMO, well two of them...
Flash and Aqua Man
Those two get almost as screwed as The Wonder Twins

I guarantee it won't stick. And it's also possible that it was just done to fake his death because of some stuff that's currently going on in the Marvel universe (note that I'm talking about within the stories). I haven't actually purchased a comic in about 15 years, but I still tend to check with friends about what's going on. They have this whole Civil War thing that's been happening, where the government wants all heroes to reveal their secret identities, get registered, and go on Washington's payroll. Anyone who doesn't is considered a fugitive. Captain America, surprisingly enough, led the side that was opposed to it, while Iron Man was in charge of the government side.
The whole thing's technically resolved, now, and the government side won. But there's an underground resistance that's been organized, and Captain America is part of it. So maybe they faked his death so he could stay off the grid? I don't know.

Steve Rodgers(aka Captain America) was in an experimental program in the Army in the early years of WWII. He was given the super soldier formula which gave him super human reflexes and strength. He got trapped in a glacier and was unfrozen 50 years later.

Yeah I love the Flash, my favorite would have to be Barry Allen. But in my opinion it doesn't get any better than the Man of Steel.
