The Jays start their season in Detroit and they won't be home until next week. Gonna try and catch their first game back.

The Mets won their opener tonight, and they're my other team. Been a Mets fan since the '99 NLCS when they showed as much heart as any team I've ever seen. That was when they lost the first three games and then magic happened and they battled back to force a seventh. That was that crazy year that the cops had snipers on Shea and the fans were whipping batteries at John Rocker, and game 5 was that CRAZY 15 inning game that ended with Ventura's grand slam (that only scored three because the team mobbed him before he crossed the plate). Both teams totally destroyed their pitching staffs over the course of the series, which made it easy for the Yankees to crush Atlanta in four.

I've only seen one game at Fenway, though. It was against the Mets and -- haha -- oh yeah. We sat up in the.... whatever you call that area at the top over first base where you can totally get up from your seat and stand and walk around. Anyway, before the game started this local dude asked me for a pen. I told him I didn't have one (true). He said, "Ya don't have a pen? What'a ya gonna do if ya run into Nomah and ya can't get his autograph because ya don't have a pen?" I just shrugged, but by about the third pitch to the Mets' leadoff hitter, he realized I wasn't looking for Nomar's autograph, and suddenly he wasn't so chatty with us.

Anyway, Fenway's an amazing park, and Boston's a pretty amazing baseball town.
