There's only a small handful of guys who post here that are competing in anything full contact. Dan Bennett's your best bet for a legitimate answer.

Is there any facts to back that up? Any studys or trials? When I have sex I am still in the same shape I was before I had sex. But would that mean masturbation as well?
I am only asking because I dont really get it.

you can see what the UFC guys do just by watching the UFC bonus features on the DVD's. after the weigh ins most guys eat and drink alot to replenish their bodies after cutting. they stay up a little late and then go to bed and sleep til noon or later since they don't fight until late at night. Bas Rutten says to bring your own food so you don't have that excuse of food poisoning that so many fighter have used after a loss. to pass the time they often watch movies or play video games. they may take another nap later on. alot of fighters like to have alot of friends and family around to keep them from spending too much energy worrying about the fight. before the fight they eventually have a warm up. seasoned fighters don't go crazy while new fighters are often so excited that they expend all thier energy warming up and have nothing left come fight time.

Hey personally I don't workout the week of the fight, I drink tons of water, plan out the figh in my head, work a little on my punches and kicks ( only about a half hr though). I get plenty of rest and an hour before I leave for the fight I will have sex. I know that some say that is no good to have sex before a fight, but personally I get more energy out of it and I am so reaaaady! Thats just me though.

Focus. Aggression. I don't know if there is any fact to it. But Ive been on the bad side of a tounament due to it. My coach lost his virginity the night before the state finals his sophmore year went out the next day as the number one seed and lost. Maybe it's an old wives tale but I wouldn't do it.

There's no proof that sex is not good before a fight but old time boxers always said it weakens the legs so I think its wise to avoid it. I would not do it for about a week before the fight, my coach would tell me to not do it for one month before the fight but I couldnt go that long.

Bas Rutten also says he goes into his fights on his second wind. He gets in an average workout to get himself sweaty, get his blood pumping, and get himself in the right mental state.

Bas knows his own limits and what works for him. just as anyone who fights long enough will need to figure out if they want to be successful. prefight warmup is a very individualized process. what works for Bas might not work so well for a guy who is having his MMA debut.
