i also don't know of any MMA fights where someone has died. the whole quote was much longer. the doctor claimed that MMA was safer than boxing because there is less emphasis on punches to the head. he then went on to say something along the lines of the UFC thinking too highly of its medical precautions to prevent serious injury. i suppose you can'y really expect a big publication like Time to give MMA a favorable endorsement. thats not what they do anyway. as far as the chance of someone dying? its certainly there, eventually it will happen. Tra Telligman vs. Tim Sylvia had everyone worried when Tim KO's Tra convincingly with that kick.
