LOL, yeah, I would not watch WCL, if I knew that any sort of MMA (decent or boring) was on another channel. Luckily my DVR allows me to record one or two things at once, so I don't have to miss stuff. I record so much ISKA and K-1 stuff it's not even funny. I have seen everything from ISKA between 1992 and 2001 for sure, LOL.

I will say this, not all of that was boring either. I just hate it during those occassionally boring Kickboxing matches where nothing significant happens for 12 rounds. The fights seemed to dance around and do nothing. They did not aggressively attack. It was a counterattack match where there was little to nothing to counter. Sure, it does not happen all the time, but it does happen in kickboxing.

I enjoyed the four episode trip to Thailand and Lampada (SP?) Stadium that the ISKA did back in 1994, IIRC. They showed all sorts of truly awesome Muay Thai. I don't even like referring to Muay Thai as kickboxing. To me, it's in a much higher stratosphere. Watching the young kids go at it as hard as the adults was both frightening and enlightening.

Whether WCL is low-rent kickboxing or if it takes off and becomes the top way of fighting kickboxing is hard to say. I lean towards the low-rent end because it's hard to see team combat sports as hardcore mainstream. But, as I said, as long as I am entertained by it, then I will keep watching.
