Mayweather's Take On The Greatest Heavy-Weight
In the July 2007 issue of Maxim, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was asked who felt was the greatest heavy-weight boxer of all time...........
"Truthfully speaking, I would have to say Larry Holmes." He concedes that Holmes lost to Mike Tyson but notes, "When Tyson beat Larry, Larry had been off for years", and adds dismissively, "The only guys Tyson beat were over the hill or scared of Mike. If they weren't scared, they'd have beat his ass." And as for Muhammed Ali (who actually was TKO'd by Holmes near the end of his legendary career), "They called Ali the Greatest because that's what he called himself."
