Yeah, I think I might be leaning toward the DS. I haven't been a Nintendo guy since the original NES, but I do believe that they've been very smart to just focus on what makes games fun and addictive over trying to a) Push the limit of graphics capabilities, and b) Build their systems with the widest variety of non-gaming uses possible. The Gamecube was a really solid system, the Wii is kicking butt, and maybe at the end of the day I'd spend more time with Mario Kart than Socom.
I'm gonna have to do some research to see what titles are out and what the future looks like for each system. I've already heard that the smaller DS-Lite is considered a huge improvement while being cheaper, too -- so that's cool.
