Oh definitely. It's a fight and anything can happen, but I just think a fighter is putting himself at a big disadvantage if he doesn't focus on his cardio. I mean, as talented as BJ Penn is, a couple of his losses are due in big part to him having lesser cardio than his opponent (GSP comes to mind). Karo Parisyan vs. Diego Sanchez is another fight that comes to mind where a talented fighter (Karo) lost in part because he thought his natural conditioning would be enough and yet his opponent outlasted him. If a fighter wants to give himself the best chance to win consistently at the highest levels, he has to be committed to training cardio. Period.
