I didn't like this fight too much, but I guess this is what happens to two guys who are pretty evenly matched and have the same fighting style. Tito's very strong and managed to control Rashad in the clinch, and he also was able to take him down (kinda, as Rashad wasn't really down on his back). But Rashad was able to defend very well and stopped Tito from doing much damage.
I'm getting more and more critical of Rashad's takedown defense. It just seems like he goes down pretty easily, at least in his last two fights. I know Salmon is a great wrestler and better than Rashad, so that's why he got him down. But Tito was pretty successful getting them too, especially the first one. Hmmm.... I dunno, either Rashad's sprawl needs work, or it's just that both opponents were good wrestlers.
Rashad I think could've won the fight if he was more aggressive. That's one thing I don't like about Rashad; he's too passive at times, and this time he let the fight slip away by throwing punches from too far away, and not engaging much. We all saw how good of a chance he had at the end of the fight when he got Tito on his back. If Rashad had done that earlier, and done more striking at close distance I think he would've won the fight.
As for the draw decision, it was justified. Tito won round 1, Rashad won round 3. In round 2 (and throughout the whole fight) Tito prevented the TDs by holding the fence, so the point taken was a good call. We don't see this happen too much, but Tito was holding waaayy too much.
Overall, close fight. I'm not sure if I want a rematch. I do, but not if they're both going to fight like this.
