It does sound like Tito is making excuses for the fact that he got caught and punished for holding onto the cage. I don't think Rashad would of got away with vasoline on the arms and everyone knows this including Tito.
Hey don't get me wrong I don't mind Tito, and to be fair I did want Tito to win, mainly because of rumours of a Tito vs. Shogun fight. However, I do think Tito was more unhappy with the draw then Rashad was, and maybe its because Rashad showed more potential to end the fight then Tito did.

Tito pulled the same crap about grease after the Forrest fight. As Forrest said, "He took me down several times in the first two rounds, so when did they grease me?" I think it's really weak that Tito would make the same claim about Rashad. Ortiz maintains the same pattern -- he acts classy in the cage when he's trying to keep the fans on his side, but give him a few hours and the real Tito will surface.

He won the fight he got docked a point and the UFC still couldn't take it from him. In the street he beat Rashad's A$$, he won the fight in every instense except on the judges score cards. Good job Tito!!! You beat a guy who everyone said was a bad matchup for you. Rashad is good but he learned it's a whole different level when you're fighting someone on Tito's level.

Tito was a lame in this fight.. He barely did enough to win... The third round was pathetic. I don't understand why he's considered a top contender? Ever since Chuck and Randy beat the piss out of him he's been scared to take a punch. He's a LnP queen... I'd rather not pay to see Tito fight again. He belongs in the undercard IMO.
When was the last time Tito finished off a fighter besides Shamrock? Can anyone remember without looking on Sherdog?

Whatever, You probably never trained half as hard as Tito. He whooped Rashad standing so what?? I'm not saying Rashad never does anything just sits back and gets his butt handed to him on a silver platter. If you can't win a three round fight with your opponent getting a point taken from him you don't deserve to win. Forget all of the TUF stars bring on Shogun let Tito whoop him and we'll see what everyone thinks.
What everyone doesn't realize is that MMA is all about matchups. IMO if A. Silva fought someone like Hughes he would get dominated, he has no takedown defense. Ortiz is a better wrestler than Rashad. Rashad is not that great of a wrestler. Did yall watch the Salmon fight. Salmon was finishing shots from his knees.

Put him in your guard and see what you think.
This is what I hate. WARNING: GETTING OFF OF THE SUBJECT- People who don't respect what pro fighters do for a living. He bust his @$$ in training to fight, and dumb@$$ fans want to get on his case for not finishing his fight. F-That how about you get in the cage and we'll see what's up. I have and still do- I realize it's no joke. I respect almost every man that gets in that cage b/c its an eyeopener.

Put him in our shoes and he can pay $250 for a seat to watch "One of the best fighters in the world" Lay on top of his opponit for one round, hold on to the fence for the second round, and then gas out and pretty much shut it down for the third round. Then on top of that he makes excuses!!
I know I respect what they do for a living and I'm willing to spend my hard earned money to watch them do it.
Calling us "dumb@$$ fans" because we have on opinion after spending our money so they can do what they love and then threatening us over the internet "F-That how about you get in the cage and we'll see what's up" is hardly the bases for a good discussion.
The great thing about what we do is that we're fans and not fighters. We (some of us) don't want to be in their shoes. We get to play Monday morning quarter back, we get to talk ****, we get to say they suck. That's the great thing about it. Without us (the fans) there wouldn't be any UFC and there wouldn't be any quarter of a million dollar pay days for Tito "the LnP queen" Ortiz.

OK, it's a rematch with the sig-bet then as well.
We can do one before that too, if you believe that Randy will beat GG and have confidence enough to make a bet.
I pick GG (and Rashad).
FF sig-bet 16 - Unfinished Business : Gooner vs. TICL.
EDIT: Or as you seem to pick Sherk against BJ, we can take that one.
Whichever is first out of these possibilities.

I don't think so. I can't imagine Tito training harder than he already does. He'll just have to change his strategy to beat Rashad, which I don't know what that strategy would be though.

tito won the fight by far imo,but i will say as a huge tito fan it was a bad performance.all those take downs and no damage on top.rashad has no right to even be proud of that fight let alone say he won.i'm worried bout tito,he was tired at the end.i hope he can get that aggression back cause the fighters today will eat him up if he doesn't.that being said,he will kill rashad in the rematch but its not a fight i want to see again.

A huge Tito-fan?
I would have never guessed haha.
I thought the people who said Tito would KO/TKO Rashad before this fight were pretty much crazy, looking at Tito's record.
But I guess there are still people out there who think he can do that to Rashad.

Rashad was out matched the first round. Second round Tito decided to loose the point, third round Tito backed off so much that Rashad thought he has "Broken" Tito and started to fight a bit harder. Well, infact Tito had "Broke" but what he did was BREAK off his attack allowing Rashad to win that round.
This "War of Words" BS is nothing more then Tito controlling Rashad and putting him where he wants him, which is back in the Octagon for another pay check. Tito Knows he can beat Rashad so why not fight him again and get a easy win and more money.

Tito did not whoop Rashad standing, i have no idea what fight you were watching. The first two rounds the standup was pretty much dead even, and there's no way you can say Rashad lost the standup in the third round, Tito didn't even throw any punches.
You're right about one thing though, if you can't win a fight when your opponent gets a point taken away then you don't deserve to win. Rashad in no way deserved a win. You know when else you don't deserve to win? When you cheat repeatedly.
I will bet any amount of money that Shogun can and will beat Tito if they fight. You talk about style matchups yet you don't think Shogun's style would dominate Tito's? The ONLY chance i give Tito is that Shogun might not be used to elbows in the cage. But considering his camp and skill set, i doubt it.
Rashad is a great wrestler, Salmon is a better wrestler. In terms of pure wrestling Salmon > Rashad > Tito. Tito was getting takedowns with size and power, not superior wrestling. Salmon did not finish any shots from his knees. He got two takedowns. One was an arm drag(one of the best takedowns i've ever seen in MMA), the other was from a caught mid-kick. If you're going to lecture you need to have your facts straight.
P.S. Hughes fought Pele who has the same exact style as A. Silva. Hughes got KTFO shooting in for a takedown in the first round It's not as simple as not having takedown defense.

he got a point for something many fighters have done,it was good to see them put a stop to it though. tito did not just win the standup. he by far out wrestled rashad,i think its you who needs to watch the fight over. as far as shogun goes,i agree if tito fights like he did in that fight imo shogun would destroy him.

Did you watch the same fight as everyone else or something? Tito did not win the stand up game...specially not in the 3rd round. Tito took Evans down a few times and did completely nothing, thats LnPing. Tito held onto the cage 3 times because he was scared of getting taken down, if he had got taken down it could of ended in the 2nd round. Tito vs Rashad 2 will be completely different. Rashad will come out fighting in the first round this time and beat Tito on the decision because he wont be scared to fight a big name.
EDIT: Styles dont win fights, game plans and training do. Like Gonzaga owning Crocop on the ground and set him up for the head kick, Serra standing with GSP. Styles fights into some game plans but its normally the plans that win the fight or a lucky shot.
