Default Taking a song clip

So I finally picked out my new phone and I have now finally figured out how to transfer my mp3's to my phone so I can use them as a ringtone. The problem is I really don't want the song to start from beginning and go all the way to the end. So does anyone know a good program that could cut me out the section that I need? If it is free that would be great since I am only going to use is a few times...well probably. Thanks alot for helping me out if you do.

You should go to MyxerTones :: Ringtones from your music!

You can upload your song there, edit, and send it to your phone.

That actually worked really well. Thanks alot Pitbull. If anyone knows any other things I could use to just cut the music and put them on my pc itself? Just wondering since I would like to experiment with making a few things.

Sure, man.

I don't know about any audio editing software, but I'm interested in that too.

Well I am just thinking there has to be something out there. I found one for Midi's but nothing for mp3 so far.

I use a program called " Audacity "

Its a free open source program and very powerful for what it is you can load an mp3 into it select what you want to delete and leave only what you like, It also lets you set all the bit rates and hz levels, Very cool I like it alot.

It lets you save things as wave files stock but their is a free D/L you need to get to export a file as an mp3.

Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

The version they have up 1.2.6 is a little newer then the one I have I'm about to D/L it and see if it comes with the mp3 stuff already, Anyway if not I can explaine that in a sec just post if you need help I'll try to help.

1.3.3 is beta I wouldn't get that one cause it probably would crash a lot

Audacity is excellent. As Rebel pointed out, you can not save as an MP3 due to copyright issues. But the Audacity site itself has a link to the LAME MP3 library that when loaded into Audacity through preferences, allows saving as MP3s.
