Hockey or UFC, take your pick Canada

Hockey may wind up being the culprit for the UFC not coming to Montreal in 2007. Another quote of the year candidate from Dana (this to the Canadian Press): "You guys have got too much frigging hockey up there. As soon as you cancel some hockey games, we’ll be up there."

I dunno man.. I am not from Canada.. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/ is too damn confusing.
That being said, I would take Don Cherry over Mike Goldberg any day of the week.

UFC >>>>> hockey
I don't know why so many people here in Canada like hockey. It's the most boring and uninteresting sport to me. There's no way you'd ever catch me watching a hockey game or paying any attention to this sport.
I wish it wasn't so big here, because it gets real annoying during hockey season

lol, no way.
I think I'm one of the very few Canadians who isn't a fan. I should be careful though, saying what I just did could be looked at as treason.

Ive already reported you to the proper authorities. Don Cherry and Tie Domi will be by any minute to take you for "reeducation".
P.S. Id be willing to give up watching a regular season game for MMA. But if its playoffs .... no way in hell im missing hockey.

^^ haha. I'll make sure I look out for those guys.
As for me, MMA is my favorite sport. Basketball comes second, but even if it were a playoff or finals game, I'd still pick MMA.

Basketball is a game of skill and grace. I too am a huge fan of basketball and find it very exciting. I sometimes can find hockey a little stale with the new defensive strategies. See the late 90's NJ devils for example , boring ass hockey. But come playoff time .... no other sport even compares IMO. Ive said it before .... hockey , basketball , and MMA are my top 3 favorite sports. What i dont get is american and canadian football. Now thats boring .... play for 10 seconds , then take a 30 second break , just makes no sense to me.

30 sec break in football depends on the offense
and those 10 seconds of play are very intense

Because in basketball there's so many nice moves the players can make to score. A real good player can move so fast and gracefully. I like all the dunks, jump-shots, lay-ups, 3-point shots, blocks, crossovers, etc... And there's plenty of contact, just no straight-out brawling or body-checks.
In hockey all I see are guys skating around for hours, doing nothing, fighting for no reason. I also don't like watching a tiny puck flying around a skating rink. To me winter/ice sports are boring.

Good idea, BCGuy, if Aika's up to it. It doesn't seem like Quebec will have any basketball teams soon. If it'll keep me safe from the Don, I'll do anything. He's one scary-looking dude.

How is hockey boring it's the most exciting sport of the all the major sports, fast paced, hitting, fighting, not many stops, end to end etc. Although I would still rather watch UFC.
