its not fighter bashing, i just saw it, thought a few people might get a chuckle out of it. I actually rewatched the Franca fight, and thoroughly enjoyed it, his style is starting to grow on me, but some people dont like it.

i think sherk is a hell of a fighter, i don't think he lnp's at all, i think he moves positions enough looking for an angle. is he gonna go for a submission that might leave himself open no he's not he's a very safe and conservative fighter.

I dont think he is boring at all. However, he is as you said, safe and conservative which I do not like watching at all. I love to watch fighters who leave it all on the line. That fight to win, not to not get finished.

This is fighter bashing, and to say hughes is a lnper is just plain stupid. He has 46 fights and only 9 were decision. Watch Hughes-Trigg 2 and tell me he isn't one hell of a exciting fighter '

i have to admit i didnt enjoy sherks tactics at all vs franca, it worked and he is a great athlete but come on, if all you do for a 5 round title fight is lay on top of the guy your going to have people doing stuff like this.
the champion really should be putting people away thats what makes them marketable, i.e anderson silva, Chuck, Hughes. Now look at the unpopular champs and you will have sylvia who took it to decision all the time like Sherk as his style bores some viewers.
In a LW division where its a knockout waiting around the corner Sherk isnt every fans cup of tea. i was hoping franca would knock sherk out with one of those knees to break up the action.
sherk should do as rashad and koscheck has done and improve other aspects of his game other than wrestling.

Sherk had the chance to finish Franca numerous of times. When he mounted Franca he didn't even try to postyure up and rain down the punches, he was content to keep close and sneak in a punch here and there. That being said I like Sherk and I don't consider him a LnP fighter. However he might want to try and finish his fight. Even though everyone says Franca is hard to finish Sherk had the chances but didn't take them, he was content winning a decision.

He had great grappling and I think that is exciting. Not everyone will like it, but that is what you risk when going to a MMA event. It's Mixed-Martial-Arts so obviously you will get good wrestlers who can school people by taking any position they want.
I thought the Sherk-Franca Fight was the fight of the night and really enjoyed it. I feel bad for people who don't appreciate ground fighting cuz that makes for at least one boring fight every fight card. That being said I also appreciate a good knockout.

im a huge fan of the ground game but when you look at it the casual fan loves submissions and KOs not lay and pray. i think thats why they introduced the stand up rule. tell me why guys like scott smith get asked back to the UFC? because they give the fans a show. sherk will be another tim sylvia champ for most people 2-3 times afetr he defends the title, a non marketable champ that people dont like watching.. unless he offers more than the takedown and hold down.
