Is Tanner under contract? And I'd imagine Jens might not be under contract either anymore since he's going to WEC.

Tanner is... I know Jens is moving but he still has fights on his UFC contract which has yet to be terminated. I dont see why the UFC wouldnt put him it if they are still on good terms and didnt terminate the contract.

we all have to remember that it is UFC 2009 There will be new fighters and there may be new big names by then. Hopefully in two years time Dana can round up the likes of Fedor and other major talents, for the benifit of the UFC and for the enjoyment of gamers everywhere

ya but it's probably going to be like other sports games, where they do the rosters early and by the time the game has come the guys on the teams have been traded or released, and the rosters arn't exact. thats why i think they will only put the ufc's major fighters.

jens could also just be put in as a legend.

I think it woul dbe sweet that once you when the cmapiopnship in every division or in every difficulty or something you should be able to unlock Big John to fight that would be sweet!

My wishlist for this game:

-Making your own fighter, he fights at a few low league events and then gets signed up by TUF where he has too fight through the stuff before getting into the UFC

-Insane gameplay, I hope its an actual UFC Style gameplay instead of a wrestling game style.

-Alot of UFC Fighters

-Muay Thai styles,boxing alot of it not just the main ones throw in some not so common ones.

List may sound very expectant I havent played the other UFC Games so I dont know what there like but I really hope they do a good job on this game and its not just some quick cash game.

i want everything you want, except i don't want there to be to many other fighting styles, in the old ones they had alot of them and most of them sucked (pro wrestling, pitfighting, ninjitsu). i just want the basic ones like muay thai, bjj, boxing, wrestling and maybe karate and tae kwon do.

My impression is that it won't be a list of styles with every fighter fitting into one of them, it'll be more about the specific way that the fighter moves and fights. I say this because THQ's brand new engine for their forthcoming WWE game is supposedly focusing on every wrestler playing a little differently -- the combo that launches a big flying forearm from Rey Mysterio might only be a quick jab from some other dude, because of the different ways that they do their thing. But that second guy might be more of a grappling and submission guy, so the combos for that area will be more effective for him. As the THQ rep was saying, you can learn to be good with one wrestler, but you'll suck with the other ones until you spend some time experimenting with them. I like it -- it means mashing the buttons won't produce the same results from every guy.

I'm kind of assuming that these same developments will play a role in their UFC game.

i didnt know that... that rules. I always hated that about WWF games. Once you know how to play you are good with everyone... just find who you like being the most. Thats why i like old school fighting games like tekken and mortal combat and street fighter.... you are usually only good with one or two people. very hard to get good with everyone.

Geroge has a point in Mortal Kombat I was only good with Subzero and Scorpion along with reptile. However I wouldnt be surprised if the UFC game went in the direction of if your good with Chuck Liddell you'll be good with all strikers. I for one am not going too get my hopes up too much. I know THQ is a good game company they'll do fine.
