Liddell fighting Shogun at this point would have not made sense. That would be like adding insult to injury. I give Chuck a small chance of beating Shogun and the UFC must agree on that. Why throw Chuck to the wolves just yet, when there's still money to be made with the guy?

Yeah I agree. THe UFC isn't going to ruin their most marketable fighter with two losses in a row.

even if Chuck could've picked Shogun why would he other than for personal satisfaction that he fought the best LHW from Pride? you know Dana always has a say in match making and he is more often looking for the big payoff than the best possible match. Shogun is well known but not so well known in the states. Its sort of like what happened to Rampage, a famous MMA fighter and he was booed relentlessly before his fight with Chuck. Shogun needs no more credentials to deserve a fight with Chuck, he simply needs to become a UFC fighter that the fans can recognize. i don't think it came down to who can beat who. Sure Chuck has a better chance against Jardine but its by no means an easy win.

I just hate how marketing and money are preventing so many good match-ups from happening. Too bad Dana White is a true business-man, and would rather make money than put on the fights a lot of "hardcore" mma fans would like to see. I can't blame White though, as many people would do the same in his shoes.

I never thought Chuck got to pick, so I believe him.
