even if Chuck could've picked Shogun why would he other than for personal satisfaction that he fought the best LHW from Pride? you know Dana always has a say in match making and he is more often looking for the big payoff than the best possible match. Shogun is well known but not so well known in the states. Its sort of like what happened to Rampage, a famous MMA fighter and he was booed relentlessly before his fight with Chuck. Shogun needs no more credentials to deserve a fight with Chuck, he simply needs to become a UFC fighter that the fans can recognize. i don't think it came down to who can beat who. Sure Chuck has a better chance against Jardine but its by no means an easy win.
