Wow! Let me say that again. Wow! Aren't we overestimating GG just lil bit here? I mean yeah he ko'd Mirko but so did Randleman. It happens. I really like GG but how many rounds has he fought in the cage? How many big fights? Randy has fought soooo many title fights. You guys are talking about GG's striking like he's Liddell, who Randy destroyed the 1st time he fought him. I just think Randy's stand up has really come around. I think he is such a better fighter since his first stint as a HW. Use whatever excuse you like but he won the stand up with ease against Big Tim. Yeah yeah he was injured but he looked ok to me. I think GG has every chance at winning this fight. He has the tools to catch him with something in the 1st 2 rounds but if they make it to the 3rd I can't see Randy losing.

I am sorry but that artical was stupid and didnt say crap!
You have a "hunch" randy wont walk away with the belt? Well i have a hunch that you have never trained or fought a day in your life and dont know what the **** it is you are really seeing. Next time maybe give a reason besides quoting randy who has always given props to EVER fighter he has ever fought.

i see gonzaga as a tough challenge to randy but not a impossible one.
randy trains hard, is constantly learning and always comes with a good game plan. I think randy can outlast gonzaga and outsmart him but i would never put it past gonzaga to take it home.
going to be a good one.

Gonzaga has a excellent chance of winning this fight , besides the proving himself to the world part he Is the complete fighting package , heavy hands great BJJ massive head with a massive chin , pretty flexiable for a big guy and he seems to generally love to fight . He will and can over power Randy he could out strike Randy and he could also catch randy with a nasty submission but .... having said all that all these possibilities will have to happen In the first round or two , because I don't think the big guy will have much gas going Into round 4 and 5 fighting at Randy's pace and Randy makes you fight his pace . This Is a 50/50 fight almost the same as Dan vs Rampage It could go either way and I wouldn't be surprised at all .

I'm still surprised at how much Gonzaga has improved. I remember seeing him in his first few UFC matches. He was on the undercards and would seemingly struggle with nobodies who looked like they hadn't trained in years.
All in all though I predict a win for Couture. I think his conditioning, intelligence and experience will prevail.

People need to constantly train in MMA in order to have an opinion on a fight now? Randy says that because his track record is out there proving that a guy like Gonzaga has a good chance at beating him.
Loss Mikhail Illoukhine Submission (Kimura)
Loss Enson Inoue Submission (Armbar)
Loss Valentijn Overeem Submission (Guillotine Choke)
Loss Ricco Rodriguez Submission (Strikes)
Loss Josh Barnett TKO (Strikes)
These are Randys losses minus Liddell and Vitor (whom didn't really beat Randy). The guys that beat him in the past have one of two things either a Submission background or they were larger oppenents that Randy couldn't wrestle through as easy. Gonzaga has both going for him.

Yeah so... um... did you see ANY of those fights? Like yeah i really hate this argument. Its very misleading and not accurate. I love how you can bring up sub loses from like 10 years ago from when Randy openly admits to NOT train in BJJ the way he should. Cause yeah Randy just kept not training BJJ. Like none of those loses in actuality have anything to do with Gonzaga. How does Randy schooling Barnett for 7 minutes straight then getting swept and trapped agains the cage in a weird postion have anything to do with Gonzaga or Size? How took Josh down at will and destroyed him the entire fight. Ricco is your only real argument in Randy's past t i love how it was in like 2002.

I think what he was trying to say is you don't have to be a fighter to have an opinion.
Thats like saying sports analysts and commentators are ignorant to the profession.
He had an opinion, he shared it in a somewhat intelligent fashion and you ridicule him for it.
Who cares weather or not he has fought or trained for a fight in his life.
And aside from that the article and the opinion do have some validity IMO.
Gonzaga has every chance at winning Randy does. Look at the odds on sports bookie websites. Odds makers have it pretty close, even placing Randy as the underdog.

I love it when Couture is the underdog. He will dominate Gonzaga like he did TIm and show all of the doubters.

I hope you are right OTP. Gonzaga just seems too big and multi-faceted for me to feel good about Coture's chances though. I think experience and intellect are Randy's best strengths in this fight.

I think you are right on here. If Randy takes it, it will be because of his raw talent, heart, experience and good ole know how ability to beat some azz.

Is there anyone in here who thinks that Randy could be KO'd badly like Cro Cop? I honestly hope that Randy isn't badly hurt in this fight. I may be wrong, heck I didn't think he could beat big Tim but I don't see this ending well for Randy. Gonzaga is a monster.

I am with you on this one. Gabe is a deserving #1 contender no doubt, but this isnt just your everyday champ. It's the 5 time champ, he has held a UFC belt more than anyone, has held the HW belt more than anyone, he has been in more title fights than most could handle, the king of 5 round destruction. Am I ruling Gabe out? Absolutely not, but I am arguing that Randy should not be ruled out as the Victor on the 25th.
Intense training + vast strategic planning + experience + Biggest heart in MMA= Randy "The NAtural" Couture

Just checked the latest betting odds and Gonzaga is a big favorite for this one, the odds are 6/5 Couture to win and 4/6 for Gonzaga to win [American odds + 120 and - 150 respectivley] .
Being as the odds are stacked against him [as they have been so many times lol] ive gone and put a few quid on Randy.

How nasty was that Head kick gonzaga threw. He just shook it off and charged forward. I'm never doubting Randy again.
