Anyone excited for...
Anyone here getting excited for the 4th quarter of 07, there seems to be a really sweet lineup of games coming out starting with Bioshock on the 21st!
I wasn't too excited about Bioshock originally, but after reading a bit about it, this seems like it won't be just another FPS game. It has been way too long since a great pc game has been released and I have very high hopes for this one. (P.S. I hate all of you with a x-box 360, you guys get to try a demo now).
Crysis is coming out in September, now that game looks like it will revolutionize the gaming world taking it to a whole new level. The physics and interactive environments look second to none.
Half life episode 2 - I am a huge half life fanboy so naturally I can't wait for this game to come out, I thought these episodes were suppose to come out faster than a regular game :-p. Team fortress 2 also looks insanely fun, the cartoony characters are a breath of fresh air.
And the final game that I am Really looking forward to is Unreal 3! (which seems to have been delayed like 200 times).
So basically, for all you gamers out there, what games are you looking forward to?

Ya, I cant wait for some of these games to hit shelves. Crysis looks sick. Its supposed to be the first real game to take advantage of the advanced physics engines as well as fully utilize the Dx10 that the 8-series Geforce cards provide. Ill hvae to do some upgrading soon to get the full fun from some of the new games.

I can't wait for Crysis, I bought a beast of a machine a few months back and I would like to see what it can do. Warhammer is an MMO that I am dying to play also, it is made by the company who made the best MMORPG of all time imo (Dark Age of Camelot).
As for console games, Resident Evil 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4 are on my must have list. Halo 3 looks like it is going to be an awesome mulitplayer game, I'll have to reactivate my X-Box Live when it comes out.

I like shooters, but the truth is that I'm not all that good at them. Bioshock looks like one of those games that'll be so tough that I'll get stuck on a certain part and it'll take forever to get past it. I tend to buy those games for the look and the features, but then I end up banging my head against the wall and never finishing them.
Half-Life 2 also comes with Portal, which looks insane and totally innovative. Look for the trailer on youtube if you haven't seen it yet.

Bioshock is made by the same guys who made System Shock 2, you can find it online for a free download. It will give you an idea of the kind of game to expect from Bioshock.

I disagree. Have you been reading up on what Bioshock is all about, and all of its many features? There isn't a lot that System Shock 2 and Bioshock have in common, other than they're both shooters.
Edit: Okay, as soon as I stepped away from the computer I started to reconsider my statement. Bioshock is a lot more advanced in its physics and design and there are more options to customize your experience, but SS2 is a definite precursor. I take back my initial statement that they don't have much in common.

hopefully crysis can live up to its looks, to many games have been sucking lately because they are more worried about fancy graphics than game play imo.

When the developers are describing a game as the spiritual succesor to their last game of course they are going to be similiar. But they have spent the time since System Shock 2 thinking of ways to improve FPS games.
I was just pointing to SS 2 to show you that it isn't going to be a mindless go in gun blazing type of shooter.

Okay, so I've been trying the Bioshock demo. The graphics and writing and music and the whole vibe are amazing, but just as I suspected, it's way too hard. Getting killed a million times isn't my idea of a fun game.

I bought the game the day it was released, and have loved playing every minute of it. I play quite a few FPS games and Bioshock is indeed pretty challenging. Since there is no real penalty for dieing in the game, it all evens out i think. The music and voice acting in the game are absolutely great.

I was in the rental store early Tuesday and there were plenty of copies of Bioshock in. I grabbed one to rent it but as soon as I looked at the back of th* case I was turned off. It looks like another typical FPS similar to Quake or one of the other 10 thousand FPS's out there. After playing Gears of War I don't think I will ever fall into another FPS, if I want to play an FPS I'll play HL2 or Counter Strike unless you guys give this game unreal reviews.
