Georges St. Pierre
What do you think about him?
By my opinion he is one of the top welterweights in the world and the only one who can overthrone Matt Hughes in the near future.

When I think about Georges, I picture him with the WW title and him dominating it for a very long time.

Love GSP. Can't wait for the Hughes fight and all his title defenses.

George is an extreme badass. As the poster above me indicated, I look forward to George's fights probably more than anyones. I think if he gets another chance at Hughes he has a great shot at beating him. And then he could have a really long run at WW.

I'm a huge fan and I think he's got a great future ahead of him, but I'm not sure that he's quite ready to beat Matt Hughes. Hughes has so much more experience at this level, and GSP is relatively new to the big time. I think he WILL be champion at some point, but maybe not this time.
His next fight's against Sean Sherk, who's a hell of a fighter too. It'll be a total war, and a good tune-up fight for GSP-Hughes II.

Shrek/GSP has fight of the year potential written all over it. UFC 56 is shaping up to be a mega card.

Massive GSP fan here also
I think his rematch with Hughes when it happens will be his toughest fight, but if he gets through that I could see him holding on to the belt for a while.
I'm just glad that the WW division is a little more stacked than the HW's so we should get to see a few more good fights from him yet. Sherk or Parisyan are no push overs. It would be good to have BJ Penn in the mix though.
I don't see too many people having much bad to say about him in general, and to be honest, I've tried thinking about any bad points but I'm coming up short. There must be something about him that someone doesn't like?

What can I say, I usually prefer American fighters. Only because I'm American. Not anything against GSP. He is one of the foreign fighters that I will root for over some American fighters. But in general if I have never heard of two fighters before I find myself hoping the guy from closer to home wins.

I'm just wondering if I'm not the only one here only sees fighters and not nationalities. I'll cheer for Belfort over any American anyday. I want Geroges to destroy Matt. I just see fighters, and I choose who I want to win based on their personality, style, etc. Not what flag is on their tale of the tape.
The only time I played the nationality games was at the Bushido GP when I wanted all the Americans to win their fights considering the damage we did at volume 7. Other than that no.

Your not. It just most people would rather see their hometown hero win rather than anyone else. As I said if I know nothing about the fighters I tend to like the guys who come from around me that others. But a fighters skill can change my mind.
