Takanori Gomi!
I think he a pretty good figher gomi vs. yves is a must. In bushido 7 Gomi had this hoodie/jacket made of gi type material it had INSPIRE written on it and some J* (a j and a star) on it its on his trunks too does anybody know what fight brand that is or how I can get my hands on it. Go to pridefc.com and look at the gomi preview video for bushido 7 to see what I'm talking about.

I think Yves could take the man. That would be a good fight for Pride to finally send some talent to the UFC.

Eves should get better coverage in the UFC I think hes quality. I've never seen Gomi fight so its difficult to give an opinion but Yves is definately the best lightweight I've seen. They really should get that fight signed

Agreed, both Gomi and Yves are beasts. Hopefully pride can put that fight together soon.

I would like to see that fight as well.. but in the UFC so you dont have Japanese bias allowing a non japanese guy to not get replaced in the center of the ring as the japanese fellows did, and no blatant head stomping by gomi.. that is not the mark of a fighter, but the mark of a desparate man. Aside from that, Gomi has always been a good fighter and very exciting to watch, so I dont hold it against him at all, but UFC rules are better suited to the fight game IMO.

I happen to like Pride's rules a little better. And if this fight were to ever happen, the chance of it happening in the UFC are pretty close to 0.

Sadly the UFC seems not to care about Yves at all.. you have a good point. I just prefer the elbow strikes as to the head stomp, thats mostly it

Elbows vs Stomp
Stomp do way more damage to me I don't think that tito ground and pound with forearms an elebows are as good as the stomps

but a stomp requires no skill and is near impossible to block, dodge, or reverse. The elbow ground and pound is done from a mount position where a reverse is possible. I see stomps as cheap shots.

I'm not sure how stomps could be considered cheap shots. They are just as easy to block or dodge as regular kicks to the head.

Well, the case I am talking about is when Gracie was tied up in the ropes and the refs basically left him stuck in there with no way to get out.
Also, if every time you go to stand up you get stomped or kicked in the head, its almost like hitting an inflatable clown punching bag.. up down up down.. remember those things?

I understand you were upset about that fight but you don't have to use that to hate everything about Pride
And yes i do remember those clown things, they ruled. I want to hit one now that you brought it up. Too bad I don't have one.

Oh, I quite enjoyed Bushido 7 aside from the no elbow rules and that one fight Think I will order the next Bushido event in July. I like the clock settings better, less chance to be 'saved' by the bell. Plus, the little guys are missed in the UFC and as much as I love LHW, I am starting to get burned out on it.

I hear you. I think once the live Spike UFC shows start to become more frequesnt, the UFC will start the lightweight division back up again. At least I hope so.

Bushido is greater than anything that the UFC has done with the Lightweights. Get Sudo and Yves signed and you got a division.

Why havent we seen Genki Sudo recently hes the shiznit?
Heard he beat Butterbean what the ****?
It pisses me off that talentless fighters like Sylvia get more coverage than Yves although the same thing happens in boxing with Heavyweights
I was so happy that Syvia got destroyed by Arlovski and Mirr. I was so spot on with the Arlovski prediction it was unreal I said 30 secs and this guy would be out there.
Does anyone remember that huge guy who got DQ for stamping on Mirr that was pretty funny, probably cause I hate Mirr. I love the stamping cause Wanderlei does it so well and you can tell how much he enjoys it
I'm sick arnt I?

I don't think UFC will open a Light Weight division. They only put they 205 and 215 and up weight class out there in the open and put those fighters in the spot light only people who keep up with the fights and don't just watch to see a fist fight can tell you about the lower weight fighters.
Ever since I can remeber the Heavy weight title has be iconed as theonly belt out there and they only one that matters and the ufc and boxing as well thinks thats all people wanna see. To me i like fights in the weight classes of 185 and under. anything above those weights are boring fighters get tired to quick and there is a a lack of submissions from most fighters /though some can do the flexible moves but 70% can't. watching the heavy weights is like watching a boxing match that ****s weak.
UFC doesn't show case there fighters enough I hope they lose them all to pride and I hope Yves stays there too.

umm.. they do have a lightweight division dude. In my math based on the past 7 UFC's, you actually have more middleweight and below than you do heavyweight.

What I mean when I say open it up I mean they will never try to make them as big as the Heavy weight and light heavy weight divisions fighters. UFC will not do spot light their light weights champs like they do Gomi in Pride and I like the lower weight better hughes is one of my favorites and so is franklin but they will never get a spot light they should go to Pride Franklin could have been in the middleweight tournament
