Rugby World Cup 2007

Some of you may be aware the Rugby World Cup is due to start next month.

Any ideas on who you think is going to win overall? Is anybody apart from Rugger interested,lol.

England have their first match with USA. I may be biased ,but i think/hope England should have a pretty easy win.

Come on England!!

BUT, France will win.

They are the home copuntry, New Zealand always mess up with the world cup and the springboks arnt good enough. They are the 3 contenders though.

i wouldnt bet against the all blacks, but bispingko is right, they are always the best team in the world for 3 years and then cock up in the world cup. i would say ireland have the best chance out of the uk nations, englands side are improving but they still do not have a solid 15. france can be a dark horse in any tournament so they always have a chance as they can beet anyone on their day. australia always step it up a gear come world cup, but they have been pretty poor recently.
however i do think this is the year for the all blcks, tho i will be cheering fo england

Not an amazing start by England,but a win over the USA all the same. I don't care how much we win by, as long as it's a win.

for USAs almost 100% amateur squad to hold England to so few tries was impressive in and of itsself.

I was impressed with the USA's performance,but was also unimpressed with how many mistakes England made.

South Africa won't be as forgiving, if we make the same mistakes this Friday.

Glad to see France(the home nation favourites) lost against Argentina too.

England just received an embarrasing defeat by South Africa.
I can't remember if it was 36 or 38 to 0

Well England beat Australia by 2 points to advance to the Semis and France also beat New Zealand by 2 points to meet England. Who would have thought it?

South Africa Vs Fiji and Scotland vs Argentina are the next quarter finals.

I would love to see an England/Scotland Final,I can't see that happening somehow though.

England vs France

Argentina vs South Africa

I personally think England will beat France but it will be a low scoring game as per usual with England playing the kicking game.

South Africa have done well this tournament so far but Argentina will put up a good fight.

I can see England vs South Africa final which is not good for England unless they can get revenge.

I have a horrible feeling France will beat us,especially with them having the home soil advantage. If we do win , it would be a great opportunity to avenge that dreadful loss we had to South Africa.

Either way, England have done a lot better than the critics gave us credit for.

As Normo mentioned USA aren't in it,but showed a lot of potential. I will be very interested to see how much they have improved by the next world cup.

people think this will be a massacre but i would personally rather be england who will be hungry for redemption after their embarassing loss to s.a in the group stages, than s.a who will just expect to turn up and demolish us. i think it will go a bit like st.pierre vs serra, england being matt serra

Now England can win and get revenge at the same time, its all good. Now if we win the World Cup people cant say "well S.A white washed you" because we have to beat them to win now. England have come a long way in this World Cup and are getting better with each game and hopefully we can now beat S.A

There's a thread for betting on the final,the odds look good for England. Gonna bet a small amount on them,could be risky though.

Looks like I'm gonna have a hangover again Sunday morning. UGH
