K1 HERO'S RESULT -MMAWEEKLY
Fights of the night:
Sakuraba vs Shibata
Dida vs Uno & Calvan
My pick Dida lost! but i made a sneaky Calvan bet..hehe
For Sakauraba fans..rejoice! We saw his fight against Gracie and luckily he did good even though he got beat for first two mins.
Kid Yamamoto fight was pretty good too..despite incidents when they cant decide which position to restart when fight goes out of ring.
Sergei Kharitonov vs Alistair Overeem not available on telecast..
Must find it!
Great event overall!
*Mod..pls insert K1 event date for me..thanks!

Man Im gutted to see Shaolin lose like that, although I did call the fight in my other thread.
Also sorry to see Zelg take another loss, he seems to have problems with those judokas!
Im glad to see JZ get the win tho, he's definately going places! Also glad to see Kharitonov get the win over Overeem, there's no doubt in my mind that's how the first fight would have gone had Sergei not injured his shoulder when he got taken down.
*btw I added the date to the title for you raconteur8*

From what I've heard so far it seemed like an exciting card. I am super happy that Saku and Sergei won, I will be scouring the net for these fights.

Thanks Mulla.
As posted on this thread, Rickson Gracie was there. The look he gave Saku after his win..gives me chills!
Saku vs Rickson must happen!

all in all it was a great event. Prolly the best HEROs card ever. Id give Sergei vs Overeem fight of the night. Another funny moment was right before the saku shibata fight, Rickson came in and gave flowers to each fighter. When he gave flowers to Shibata, he just chucked them in the crowd, and Rickson had that pissed off look on his face. SAku also called out Funaki and Rickson after the fight. JZ is a monster btw, top 3 LW no doubt.

Dida has to have some damage to his arm following that armbar by JZ. That was nasty tight and you could see how much his elbow hyperextended in the replay. Hopefully, he's not too injured.
The ring rust on Kid was very apparent. He simply did not have that explosiveness we are used to seeing with him. Bibiano is a tough fighter. I would have loved to see what kind of fight it would have been if he had not been viciously cut by Faber in their match. But that was a nasty forehead cut from a few big punches/elbows.
Overeem has got to stop turning his back to his opponent while standing every time he gets clipped. It was a great fight but for some reason its really annoying when Alistair turns his back and practically ran from Sergei. Drop and look for the takedown if you have to, but please don't turn and basically run. Kinda dissappointing for me.

Well I finally got to see the event after staying clear of the K-1 FF section for the last few days to avoid any spoilers
All I have to say is that I am very satisfied with the card. Maybe the best Hero's card ever and it gave me hope that maybe Hero's can take the place of Pride in a way. We'll just have to wait and see. They keep acquiring good fighters. Kang, Gomi, etc.. One thing that bothered me was the Kid vs. Bibiano fight when the ref couldn't get the placing right
Overall, very satisfied!

Sakuraba put some of the worst looking punches on Shibata while his head was pinned on the mat. My teeth were rattling after that. He looked like he was cracking coconuts!
First time seeing Fabio Silva. What clown. He needs his own schtick.
