Default *EliteXC Spoiler Alert* Question about Diaz fight..*Spoiler*

Why do people think that Diaz lost that fight? I personally had it 29-28 in clear favor of Diaz. If not, it was very close to 30-27 IMHO. Diaz peppered him the entire fight. Aina scored one knockdown that probably stole him the second round even though Diaz controlled the rest of it. Diaz always pressured him and constantly HIT him while Aina would just swing wildly and get blocked most of the time. Diaz controlled the clinch and the ground game. Therefore, I don't see where people think Aina won? So, enlighten me as to what I am missing..

I agree with you. Diaz won that fight. Aside from a punch that caught him in the second round, Diaz did all the damage. However, he was a fool not to take the fight to the ground earlier.

All you had to do was look at their faces. Diaz doesn't look like he's putting much on those punches, but Aina's face was a mess. Pretty easy 29-28 fight IMO. It's also another example of how stupid a 10 point must system is for MMA.

people are going crazy on the UG. Calling anyone who thought Diaz won that fight a nut-hugger. Pretty absurd.

Sometimes people (and referees) get carried away when an underdog manages to put on a decent performance. Aina looked okay. He was able to land a few good punches but he really did not deserve to win the fight. Diaz was picking him apart towards the end, which basically indicated that he had done much more damage during the whole bout. Also, that arm bar he secured when the bell rang looked pretty legit to me.

I agree that Diaz won 29-28, but I still don't think that he looked very impressive.

Oh no! He did not look impressive at all. He thought he was so superior that he decided to delay taking the fight to the ground. That almost cost him the decision. He needs to meet up with Couture and work on his game plans.

I'm just simply annoyed that with all the punches Diaz threw, he never hurt Aina.

Diaz needs to simply work on power. Man lift some weights, etc. Cause if he could add even a little power on those nice combinations he has?

He'd be pretty unstoppable.

He won that fight 100%, I actually gave it to him 30-27. Aina never really landed any of those punches and I'm glad the judges realized that.

I didnt see the fight, but I read the play-by-play over on Sherdog. They make it sound like Diaz looked horrible, and how crazy it was to give him the fight.

Diaz was walking that kid down the whole fight, and he just isn't scared to get hit. It is hard to judge his fights cause he just doesn't care too much about getting hit. He got knocked down but it was kinda weak and he got hit on the back of the head. I think he won at least 2 of 3 rounds, but that kid diserves a second look. He stuffed a bunch of takedowns, took a ton of shots, and fended off some subs late in the last 2 rounds. Good showing for both, Diaz still needs to finish more to be looked apon as great (I will watch him anyday but to keep getting paid he needs to keep it out of the judges hands), he seems to just like being in a good fight.

Diaz said it himself...after several tough decisions in the UFC against him, he learned a little more about how the judges score fights (Bisping B.S. excluded). That's why he continues to pepper his opponents. He did try to finish the fight (when time ran out twice) but he knew that he'd get the victory.

Aina handled himself very well but Nick won the fight.

I don't think he could ever punch harder unless he changed the way he throws those combinations. He keeps his arms forward all the time and gives the punches little distance, unlike someone like Liddell, who is completely the opposite.

I can't stand Nick but I thought he won the fight.......I didn't think that knockdown was a real knockdown it looked like Nick was on one leg then got hit hard it might have rocked him but I didn't think that was a clean knockdown.

Plus you need only look at the dudes face to see who won that fight.......Nick didn't throw really hard it seemed but he did throw a lot of shots and seemed to hit the guy like nothing.

Not a Diaz fan at all but he tippy tapped his way to the win , i think that because of ufc 75 we are going to get a lot of these decision uproar's over the next few events because now everybody's looking for a conspiracy.
