IMO, it takes a lot of skill to finish an opponent. If a fighter KO'd or submitted an opponent in a few seconds or a few minutes of the first round, then that says a lot to me. I think that if a fight goes the distance, then all it really demonstrated was that the two fighters have good cardio and were fairly evenly matched. I don't agree that if a fighter gets a fast win, then he has not shown his skills. I think that he has shown his skills.
People do not like to hear this, but Matt Serra showed that he can bang and win against people like GSP. He beat GSP in the first round. Serra has skills. He deserved that win. The same goes for Sanchez against Riggs. We did not see three rounds of boxing, but Sanchez clearly showed that he can KO people when he has the right mind set for it.
