running off at the mouth? So he has an opinion. You seem to have many of them.

I agree - Spike & UFC put that in there on purpose. What a bad move to allow and then air something so divisive.

I meant that Matt Serra has been running off at the mouth. I did not say that he was not allowed opinions. What I am talking about dealt with how annoying Matt Serra has become with his almost constant, obsessive attacking of the character of Matt Hughes. Even when he had a chance to put that aside and just focus on the good of the team, Matt Serra dropped the ball. Hughes said that he has nothing against Matt Serra in the first episode. But, Serra has enough friends, he needs enemies. He said so himself.

But, Serra might need to seriously hate a guy before a fight in order to get his juices flowing. Then again, maybe the Hughes-Serra thing was always meant to be a rivalry that the UFC could hype into a super-fight. I think that had a lot to do with the issues between them. This season has become a clone of Ortiz-Shamrock's TUF season. It's all about the coaches.

Serra has gone overboard for sure, but I think a little creative editing also adds to it. Don't be so quick to defend Hughes though, the 'I have nothing against Matt Serra' crap doesn't hold water when you repeatedly say he is a fluke. He might in fact be but saying hey I have nothing against you but you suck compared to me might give Matt a little fuel for the fire.

I recall that Serra really started his hate on for Hughes way back in TUF-4 "The Comeback" last year in Fall 2006. Hughes did a guest appearance, made some bad jokes that did not go over well, and that was when Matt Serra first started calling Matt Hughes a dick. That was a year after Matt Hughes had already had a full season of coaching on TUF-2 in Fall 2005. But, in 2005, it did seem to be more about the fighters and less about the coaches.

It just seems to me that Serra went after Hughes repeatedly in interviews after TUF-4 "The Comeback" and Hughes has really just been reacting to Serra's shinanigans. But, then Serra won the UFC world WW title. I think that Hughes called it a fluke just to get inside of Serra's head and psyche him out. And, of course, Matt Hughes sees himself as the greatest WW champion in UFC history. He's very confident.
