AA vs Kongo = title shot for Kongo. I think Gonzaga deserved the title shot, whereas I don't think Kongo does, even if he beat AA. No one who's as weak as Kongo vs grapplers (remember Marrero?) should hold a UFC title. If Nog doesn't get the next title shot, then he should fight Kongo. Let's see if Kongo's horrible ground defence has improved.

Me too...but not the AA who fought Werdum last time. That's definitely up for 'boring fight of the year'....which was surprising b/c Arlovski and Werdum don't strike me as boring fighters.
Anyway...
I'm not counting out Werdum but I bet Gonzaga will find Werdum a little more manageable than Randy.

I just want AA back and fighting in the UFC. I'm not bothered if it's a title-shot, a number one contender decider or anything else... I just want to see him fighting in the UFC again. If he comes back as the AA of old then he will earn his shot at the bigger players, I'm not bothered if he gets handed it or not... Just to see him compete after so long in the dark would surfice.
If he returns and doesn't perform then fair enough... I just think it unfair that Werdum gets a shot at a 'contender'. The AA v Werdum fight was billed as very boring (and in fairness, it was), but AA still came out on top... So how Werdum gets another shot dumbfounds me... It takes 2 to make a boring fight, so howcome the loser profits and the winner fades into obscurity?

I'm not sure what to think of Gonzaga, he's a good fighter and displayed his ability against cro-cop, but I'm still not convinced.

If the title is vacant i think it should be the last guy to hold the title which was Tim Sylvia vs the last guy to compete for the title which was Gonzaga to decide the new heavyweight champ.
Noguera doesnt deserve it at all, he's had 1 fight in the ufc and nearly got his arse kicked. Kongo should be the next contender to fight the winner of Tim and Gonzaga.

Got to feel sorry for Arvloski-Should be a good fight although to be honest I feel that Werdum has the potential for an upset.
Is GG really that good? He beat a shell Shocked Cro-Cop who was not up for elbows and got beaten by Randy-Yes he had his nose broken in an unfortnuate way and he did break Randys arm but he was DOMINATED.
I hope he stands up and does well but I would like to see Werdum come out all guns blazing.

Gonzaga vs. Werdum
I'm liking this fight more and more. Though Gonzaga is more known for his KO of Crocop, he is a black belt in BJJ. He won't be scared of taking it to the ground against Werdum like AA was which produced a snooze fest in Werdum's last fight. The broken nose severely limited what Gonzaga could do against Randy. I like Gonzaga in this cause he is still dangerous standing up though.
Any thoughts?

Im with you Harms, I got Gonzaga in this one too.
It'll be interesting to see how much of a size difference there is between the two. Werdum looked huge compared to Gabe in their first fight.

I like Gonzaga here too. Werdum hasn't fought in such a long time. I think he needs to show something in the cage so the UFC fans can at least get excited to see him fight.

Got to go with Gonzaga also. Both have very good ground games, so that's hard to call - But a huge striking advantage to Napao in my opinion.

Gonzaga has the advantage standing and both are good on the ground...So I will also pick Gonzaga for this fight.

I believe that the fight will be evenly contested on the ground, but at some point during the stand up, I expect Gonzaga to catch Werdum. Gonzaga by TKO I predict.

I think this will be a great fight as well. A win is vital for both men and I fully expect them to bring it hard. I am going with Werdum in this one as I expect it to go to the ground and he does have a slight edge in BJJ techniques. The title fight and this one make this card very worth while !

I think Gonzaga STEAM ROLLS through Werdum, kind of like a stepping stone fight. Gonzaga has the tools to be an elite HW, and I epect that to show Saturday

Wow! Don't be so sure. How many times have you seen Werdum fight aside from the AA bout? Did you know that he has already beaten Napao?

LOL yes ive seen him fight. I have all his PRIDE and Jungle Fight on DVD, and to be honest ive never been a big fan/impressed with him. Sure hes good but I think Gonzaga is on a quest to be #1 in the world in 18 months.
