I do all my cardio in the afternoon, but I make sure I have not eaten about 2 hours prior. I like to work out on a basically empty stomach. I started getting serious about working out right after UFC 54 in August. I have gone from 251 to 215 in that time, so cardio in the afternoon is definitely NOT a waste.
