First off buying a glock is your first mistake. Junk junk junk.

Go with the Springfield XD. I shoot a few times per month and I have done this for yrs.

The glock is junk in comparison to the Springfield XD. Ergenomically better smoother action more accurate.

9mm is big enough for protection, 40 cal is better but you will pay more for ammo.

Ammo prices are like gas prices. Sky rocketing up and they won't be coming down.

Good luck and be safe.

PS, I started with a glock, thought it was the shiz. Then I graduated to the XD. I hold a 6 inch pattern using a point and shoot method. I shoot at the top of the department now. Out of about a hundred deputies I rank in top 5.
