As for makes? Get you a SIG-Sauer. Thank me later. P228 aka the M11 comes with a 9mm and 40cal option. Best pistol I have ever shot.

Ya, Ive got a LOT of experience with the Sig-Sauer M11 (9mm) version and it just doesnt have the stopping power of the .40 thats for sure. The M11 has a nice sized grip for people who dont have large hands and its trigger pull is very smooth. It also lacks a mechanical safty, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on if you know what youre doing or not. It does have a decoking lever though.
