I loved my glock which was a 9mm but I was mostly using it just for recreational shooting so the cheaper rounds were nice. If there is a high likelyhood that you will be relying on it in a life or death situation then go .40 or .45 cal. I had a .45 kimber ultra carry that I loved and I've shot the kimber tactical and that shot nicely but I wouldn't recommend it if you are going to shoot often.(disassembly is a b****)
