K-1 MAX has several good LW fighters, Buakaw Por.Pramuk Andy Sower Mike Zambidis HAYATO, TATSUJI, Hiroki Shishido (better known from Shootboxing) Albert Kraus, Masato, Yoshihiro Sato, Keiji Ozaki, Takayuki Kohiruimaki (Kohi).. lots and lots.
And of course, not from K-1, but Ramon Dekker. Historically one of Kickboxings best known fighter, Tadashi Sawamura, was a lightweight who racked up an impressive record of 232W(228 by KO)-5L-4Draws in an 11 year career spanning 1966 to 1977. When he retired, Japanese kickboxing became MUCH less of a major draw and almost faded into mainstream obscurity until K-1's 1993 debut revitalized the sport.
