It's easy to say those comments based upon history. Liddell was a dominant champion for years. He beat the #1 contender for years. He beat Randy Couture twice. Yada, yada, yada. Yes, there's definitely the possibility (and I'd even say it's inevitable) that his skills may be deteriorating with age. But Jardine doesn't have the same pedigree. He's beaten Liddell and Forrest and some top-10 fringe talent like Gouveia, but he's also lost to Houston and Bonnar. If a rematch did happen who do you think Vegas would consider the favorite? It's really not
that unbelievable that people think Liddell would win.
I'm sure that this fight will eventually happen, I just don't want it to happen in the near future. Liddell/Rua would be a lot more compelling, IMO.
