Cool

Cloverfield is one hour and twenty-four minutes long. It has to be shorter than the average film because of the unsteadycam effect that they were using. Most people are able to watch the unsteadycam with no ill effects, but other people cannot handle it. My friend just closed his eyes for a minute or two now and then during the film and he said he was fine.

But, really, Cloverfield could not have been filmed some other way and still be the same story with that same impact. The "found video footage" idea itself is not new, as we saw with The Blair Witch Project, but the idea of finding a camcorder with footage of a giant monster attack is a new idea. Cloverfield definitely went farther than The Blair Witch Project when it came to showing the audience more rather than less.

And, for anybody that stayed all the way to the end of the credits, there was something there for you, LOL. There is some garbled vocals at the end that vaguely say, "It's still alive." So, I think that we may see a sequel to this movie.
