This is a big FU to the PRIDE bashers. Now let those suckers hide for a while. Nog is a beast and, as a reminder to all UFC ignorants who never saw a PRIDE fight, he was number #2 or #3 HW in PRIDE, way behind Fedor.
Now, let's keep talking about Fedor being a douche bag, right? Hahaha. Congrats to all the PRIDE folks. Nog needed only two cage fights to get acquainted with the UFC. Shogun is next.

I meant taller than himself. Now I realize that the only person he beat taller than himself was Gan McGee. However, I still don't agree with anyone saying he doesn't have any skill. If anyone says that, it's obviously just because they don't like the guy.
I wanted Sylvia to win, but I'm not really that dissapointed that Nog won either. I just don't really care to see him vs. Werdum. Imo there are other HW contenders who deserve that title shot more than werdum.

Haha, didn't even think about that.
It's true though. No need to bash either organization.
A lot of PRIDE-guys have disappointed in the UFC, but fact is, THREE former PRIDE-fighters have UFC-belts now.
Chew on that, haters.

yeah, it's a big FU to the UFC Brass too. I re-watched Chuck/Wandy before this and Joe Rogan made a comment "Joe Silva just passed me a note and said this a'int Japan." And, Dana I thought seemed like he was favoring Tim in pre-fight talks. Good for you NOG!

I agree w/ most of your post but the whole PRIDE vs. UFC does not mean anything to me. It has been over year now since PRIDE dispersed and I really could care less about which fighters were best from what org. b/c most of them are all together in the same org. now so it does not matter.
Lets all just please forget about PRIDE vs. UFC and enjoy the good fights that are possible now.....

When i watch this fight it was like 7.00 in the mourning.
I was screeming so I probbely woke up the whole naberhood when Nog got the win. I am tired of the whole Pride vs UFC war, but it is stil very nice to see that youre heros was for real. One year and we got like 3 champs, not bad at all. Still I miss bouth Fedor and Randy and think bouth of them (Fedor again) would beat Nog. To bad we might never find out.
HAPPY, HAPPY JOY JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no problem putting the PRIDE-UFC discussion away. But, as a fan, it has been hard to see folks like Shogun or Mirko go down for one reason or another, and then have to read bs about PRIDE being a big bunch of nobodies.
Nog has further validated PRIDE just as Rampage and Hendo have, and just as Shogun and Silva will. I am happy they all fight for the UFC and I hope in the future, big champs like Shogun will get the respect they deserve.
As far as I am concerned we can conclude the discussion.

I really wish all the BS would be scrapped and Fedor and Randy would both come to the UFC. I know it is just wishful thinking though so I will just let it go.....

I really want to see Nog/Crocop again. I hope he holds the belt long enough, that after he fights Werdum or Mir or Kongo, Crocop has 2 wins to get a shot.

Agreed. I liked pride more than I liked the UFC, but at this point let's just say Pride had both great and terrible fighters just like the UFC does now. Both UFC and Pride fighters could have won or lost on any given night. Case closed.
BTW I had hoped that Gomi would have come over to the UFC. Too bad he didn't.

It shows it's ONLY because you're tall why you're where you're at.
Technique before physics. Lesnar learned that too.

Are you serious??
Big Tim has great sub defense. How many minutes did Randy have Tim's back? The guy is not world class bjj, but he's damn good. This is a completely terrible post.
Also, Lesnar looked very good until he got caught by the kneebar. If Mir and Lesnar were to have a rematch tomorrow, the odds may very well still favor Brock.
Back on topic:
Damn good fight!
I'm very impressed by Nog, however this is his second fight in the UFC and both times he was nearly knocked out standing.
I'm glad he's champ, but I don't think I'd rank him #1 HW in the world.

I will say this, among the PRIDE heavyweight fighters, Big Nog has done really well. He beat Heath Herring, again (3-0 for Big Nog against Herring). But, Nogueira had some troubles in his octagon debut. Herring almost won. Then, Nogueira beats Tim Sylvia and wins the HW title in what most will say was an impressive win (equal to what Couture did at the least against Sylvia).
But, I think that the bottom line now is that all of these guys are now UFC fighters. PRIDE Fighting is gone. As the months and years pass, the PRIDE fighters will have a lot of UFC fights.

No doubt they are UFC fighters and that's that. However, ask Nog or anybody else who fought in PRIDE for many years where their hearts are. Eventually Nog and Co. will be UFC products, but right now they are still somehow waving PRIDE's flag.

The fight was amazing, indeed.
I'm more concerned with 2 things. 1 - It's still an interim belt, why? 2 - Nog wants Randy. You think it's possible? Randy said that he only wants Fedor, but he's never fought Noguera. I think Nog would win, but who knows? Any thoughts?
