Five Ounces of Pain | Nate Diaz added to UFC Fight Night 13?

The site claims that Diaz has been added to the card and that they are looking to name the opponent in the next couple of days.

Nathan Daz has been added to the April 2nd, UFC Fight Night card. Diaz has submitted every opponent he has faced in the Octagon and is looking to continue his winning streak. He will be facing tough competition and we hope to announce his opponent in the next couple of days.

This is pretty crazy news considering that the UFC has already claimed to have finalised the April 2nd card and that the card is already stacked. The card is stacked with so many intriguing and exciting match-ups that Spike has been bombarded with emails from fans demanding they lengthen the broadcast from 2 hours to 3.

You would have to think that GracieFighter.com has misspoke or have being given false information because it doesn’t make much sense to add Nate Diaz to the card considering how much talent there already is on the card.

The apparently finalised card features:

* Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon
* Tim Boetsch vs. Matt Hamill
* Karo Parisyan vs. Thiago Alves
* James Irvin vs. Houston Alexander
* Frank Edgar vs. Gray Maynard
* Spencer Fisher vs. Marcus Aurelio
* Din Thomas vs. Josh Neer
* Tommy Speer vs. Anthony Johnson
* Clay Guida vs. Samy Schiavo
* George Sotiropoulous vs. Roman Mitichyan

An opponent that has been rumoured as a possible next opponent for Diaz is Kurt Pellegrino.

As far as I know, Five Ounces of Pain is usually pretty good.

I still can't imagine they'd put Nate on that already stacked card. What would the UFC gain by doing that?

I'm gonna wait for more "credible" source to post the news. Not that I don't believe MMAmania, but along with news, they post many rumors as well.

As much as I want this to be true, I have to agree with you here, Pitbull. The UFC website seems to be unaware of this fight and it is not listed on the event's fight card (UFC® : UFN-13 Fight Card). And this article, UFC® : UFC Fight Night Card Complete with Addition of Boetsch vs Hamill, seems to say that the fight card is final.

That article was posted today "Monday, February 18, 05:08 PM PST" and that PST bothers me. PST is Pacific Standard Time, right? Should that say "05:08 AM" rather than PM? Anyway, the UFC website might update later today to confirm the fight. We shall have to wait and see. I, for one, hope that this is true

I was just watching KO news on the fight network and Mauro Ranallo just announced that the fight between Diaz and Pellegrino is happening at Fight Night 13 on April 2nd.
