I'm staying with last times prediction. GSP "SHOULD" be able to take this fight more often than not. He was way too damn cautious last time & just wasn't all there mentally....which he does occasionally, as we know.
I'm not a Serra fan by any means...but I also don't mean to be disrespectful by saying, that I just don't really see him as earning the ranking that he currently has. From what I have seen of him in his fights...he was in a limbo sort of state prior to TUF for a reason. He made the most of the chance he was given and beat GSP straight up....but I just do not see him being in that position with out the TUF opportunity that he had.
But I do not see him working his way up through contender after contender the way that GSP did over the last few years. I mean be honest....Georges has fought against competition every bit as tough, or tougher than Serra has & only has 2 losses on his record. Hughes & Serra...that's it.
Meanwhile Serra for the most part, has been streaky and inconsistent throughout his career. I just don't think that he would even be in the spot he's in, without the "shortcut" of TUF. I have a hard time seeing him as a perennial Top 10 fighter...mainly, because he hasn't been.
But again...their paths to this point are irrelevant, if Georges can't step up & take him out. I think that GSP will do it this time out...but obviously, anything can happen. LOL
