I don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell to beat Silva and IMO, GSP's fragile psyche would crumble faster than Rich Franklin's nose did. While it's a dream match and both the UFC, the sport, and the fans will benefit, there's a good chance GSP would become the next David Loiseau after the beating Anderson would give him.
Also, I don't see how people would think that Rampage is so much more powerful than Silva when Dan and Rampage were at a stalemate for 5 rounds and it's fresh in all of out minds what Silva did to Hendo. Silva would have little problem disposing 'Page too.

I agree with the Page statement.
Now, as far as GSP goes... What you are saying is like justifying Fedor not taking on the big names to keep accumulating wins. A loss to Silva would be no big deal for GSP. If he is now back where he was before losing to Serra, a defeat against Silva would not in any way condition his future in the UFC or the sport for that matter. The basic difference between GSP and Louiseau is in the head, and GSP's is in a much better place that Louiseau's.
