I agree... mixed-martial-arts fighters have to learn so much about every aspect of fighting - striking, "dirty boxing" (ie. in the clinch), takedowns, takedown defence, submissions, submission defence, ground and pound, octagon/ring control and positioning, cardio and conditioning.

You can't just belong to a martial art or some martial arts any more - traditional martial arts are very restricted in what you can and can't do and what you're taught.

MMA really has become it's own martial art as you take all the elements of fighting and combine them into one to make the perfect fighting style.
