Ufc 83 $44.95 Ppv
So they upped it to $44.95 PPV for the Pride UFC unification belt which at least had that logic and also for the debut of pro wrestling Lesnar. Now a 'regular' show is $44.95. Is this because it's in Montreal? Seems they want to make it a regular thing, and are stretching the average fan to the limit for their greed. So as much as I like this card I may not get it. The fans are the cause of the success and it seems like they don't give a rat's ass about us but want to squeeze us for whatever they can. MO

I think it is the norm now.
To me this isn't that bad. For a card like this I am going to go out to a bar and watch it (I would have been going to a bar on a saturday night regardless). If it is an awesome card and I want to DVR it I'm not sweating the extra 5 bucks.
I could understand how annoying it would be for the fans that order every single PPV at their house and don't split it with friends.

That was discussed in THIS thread. I'm pretty sure that's the normal price now.

It wasn't so long ago they were $20+ cheaper with cards that were just as good or better!

You are hurting the fighters more than you are hurting the company.

Even if buyrates went up 20%, do you really think Dana would share the money? I sure dont. I think he would see 'increased demand' and hike prices again

For those of you who unilaterally throw things out like "Just pay AA what he wants," or "I don't care what it takes, give Fedor a blank check"... just remember that this is the end result of increasing salaries. Zuffa's not paying more, we are.

My days of buying PPV's have been over for a while now, this price hike just validates how greety the UFC and Dana are getting. It's a shame that our economy is pretty f*cked up now with the house market, raising gas prices, people losing their jobs and in general the cost of living. Still then Dana wants to take more money out of your pocket for PPV's and some PPV's are not even worth it. What a douche bag!
For me personally Dana can keep raising the PPV price. I don't get the PPV's anymore so he's not getting money from me. I'm really talking for the high school student or college student that can't just afford to spend $44.95 for a PPV every month. Great job Dana!

Hey Jo Son invented Jo Son Do!
I don't mind paying the extra $5 I just wish there was a guarantee that extra 5 was going into the fighters pockets, but like Aika said, we know that isn't the case! I believe UFC fighter Minimums should be $10,000/$10,000 not $3,000/$3,000.

Everyone should organize not to order a ppv event on a **** card, maybe it will make some sense to him when their income drops 50% at that event.

Last year, PPV's were $10 cheaper, two years ago they were almost $20 cheaper, that's a lot more recent than Hackney v Jo Son. It's been a 20-30% increase yearly, much more than the standard inflation rate and the normal 3-4% most people see in a yearly pay raise. If I recall right, the increase at Liddell v Couture III was a "one time deal" because of the show and the purse, but it never went back down.

The last UFC Pay-Per-View that I purchased was UFC 81. I had a few friends over (wrestling fans) that chipped in cause they wanted to see the Lesnar fight. The one I bought before that one was UFC 79, well because lets face it; who wouldn't want to see Liddell vs. Silva?
With that being said I use to buy the pay-per-views every time the UFC had them on. Now with the prices so high I just don't think I can really afford it and am finding myself picking and choosing which ones to buy, that being the really stacked cards. The time of buying the pay-per-views just because I wanted to see that one fight are pretty much over. Best thing that one could do is watch it with people that are willing to chip in or go to a bar that is playing it. Unfortunately for me, not a lot of my friends are all that interested and I'm too young (18) to go to the bar and even if I was old enough not to many bars around where I live have the event on.
Anyways if you can't afford UFC 83, you can tune in to Hopkins vs. Calzaghe on HBO that is if you have it! Man.... don't you miss when the pay-per-views were like $34.99? Sorry for the rant guys, and YES inflation is a b**ch!
