Ironically, you could ask the same thing about Franklin before the Lutter fight or after his next fight. The fact is that when you are absolutely dominated twice by a champion, it's hard to get a third shot. Although I have read that he would prefer to avoid going back to 205 (the weight class in which he suffered his only non-Silva loss), it seems like he may be short on choices if he ever wants to get a title shot again. Of course, the LHW division is stacked and he would face an uphill climb there as well, but one or two marquee wins at a new weight class could revive his career. But if I had to pick a MW for him to fight, I'd say either Marqardt or Patrick Cote.
