I agree. I'm not a Bisping fan but I will admit he did look impressive in that fight. He definitely has potential to be a real force at 185. I think Franklin/Bisping would be an exciting fight.

I believe Rich's wreslting/take down defense is just good enough to keep the fight standing w/ Hendo and I can see him doing some damage to Hendo striking. I dont know if he could finish Hendo but I can see him pulling out a decision. Having said that, I can also see Hendo catching Rich w/ a good shot and finishing him but I really believe this fight could go either way. I know they want Hendo to get his 1st UFC win which will not be hard to do but I really want to see this fight.....

I would love to see a rematch with Quarry. See if Quarry's stand up has really gotten that much better.

It's tough to seriously gauge him at this point. I mean he was fighting Captain Miserable. It was nearly impossible for him not to look impressive. Bisping looked great in his first couple LWH fights against lackluster opponents as well... yet not so great against Hamill or Rashad.

My guess is another safe fight but that has an angle ( " Lutter did so good against Silva " ) that can be hyped.

Well if Im honest, I don't think they do either. Almeida will if he wins his next fight... Bisping really isn't ready and I think he knows that he can't beat Silva at this point in his career... I think Franklin should still fight Hendo, but then maybe the winner of that could fight Almeida for the title shot.

I think Bisping looked ok against Rashad, he looked good enough to win it in some peoples eyes...

I would like to ideally see Franklin vs Hendo

But I dont want Hendo to have the possibility of losing, and dont think the UFC does either.

Also, IF Franklin won (which i think hendo would take this), who would he fight next? Another shot at A Silva? Ackkkk

The first obvious choice that popped into my head was Henderson, but I wouldn't want to risk seeing Henderson take another loss after losing both of his Pride titles in back-to-back fights. Franklin vs. Cote or Marquardt would be pretty cool at this point (though I'd hate to see Cote lose as well).

As far as other match-ups that have been mentioned, I really don't see Bisping posing much of a threat to Franklin at this point. He looked great against McCarthy (and I'm not a Bisping fan in the least) but he was get slaughtered by Franklin.

If Im honest, I really do think that Franklin should never fight Silva again, its just a bad match-up for him stylistically. Now if Franklin went away and learnt some black-belt Jujitsu, I might see it differently, but the fight result will never change, and I think Franklin knows that.

I think Almeida or Maia are probably the two worst matchups for A. Silva right now. I think it's going to take a good ground guy to beat him. I still think Hendo can beat him, but his pride may make him try to stand up and bang with Silva, which would be a mistake. I think it'll take a submission guy to beat him at this point.

D lutter v almeida

winners of A and B fight each other for #1 contender spot. and winners of C and D fight each other for title shot after that

i dont want to see it for a while but if franklin is the number one contender and anderson is the title holder then it has to happen. and franklin is actually a brown belt in jiu jitsu and showed some great counters against lutter. i think his game plan would be similar to that of GSP against serra, and i think he could pull it off, though not quite as dominantly

Yeah Rich really suprised me w/ how effective he was on the ground against Lutter. It kinda gave me a small sense of possibility that he could devise a game plan to beat Silva. Having said that; I believe he could do something differently and maybe make it a more competitive fight but against Silva when he is on his game I dont think he could pull it out. I got much respect for Rich though b/c he will leave it all out there regardless of if he gets KTFO or if he wins. In other words he will take the chance of getting KOed for an opportunity to win.....

Default Franklin should leave the UFC

I see Franklin/Hendo as the only fight left for Franklin. But even that doesn't do much for me. I think it would be better for Franklin to go to another fight org. He might be making good money in the UFC, but on a personal level I think he is done in the UFC(with Silva at the top that is).

I dunno, it's a tough sell, but if could become the champ in another org, I think it'd be better for his career and self esteem. I'm not 100% with this opinion, so feel free to disagree.

I think that this analogy fits: Franklin and Silva are both QBs on a superbowl-winning team. Silva is the starter and Franklin the backup. Silva is healthy, a full-time starter and very good. Should Franklin stick around on this championship team on the bench or should he move to another less sucessful team and lend his talents there (possibly raising them to bowl contention)?

Also, leaving the UFC at this point in his career is no way cowardly. He is still young and his only losses have been to Silva (the current champ) and Machida (who is still undefeated!).

He Is still a money name for the UFC but he needs someone to knock Silva out of the 185 . Goodluck with that so he proves he can beat most but not the one guy In his way , and he thinks he Is too small for 205 maybe he needs to join a new fight league .

there are alot of real quick 205ers nowadays and i feel at that weight franklin would be more of a plodding fighter compared to the kinda speed that is there now while sacrificing some of his strength and cardio advantage

I would like to see Franklin/Bisping or Franklin/Leben

These two are good matchups for Franklin and I think he can take both.
I don't want to see Franklin/Hendo until Dan has at least one win under his UFC belt.

I still think Franklin and Hughes need to face off. Possibly catch weight.

Franklin/Marquardt and Hendo/Okami. The 2 winners fight for a title shot.
