Glad I chose not to go to this one! There's a few good fights on this card but losing Chuck really hurt it imo.

And I really hope Irvin doesnt replace Chuck in the main event. I like Irvin but he's very hit and miss and I dont think he deserves a main event. Id much rather see Thiago Silva fight Evans, as they'd originally planned.

I've just seen this now!! I thought it was a joke at first, then went on to UFC website and my heart stopped! I have tickets for this!! I bought it for Liddell, was a bit gutted when Shogun went off the card, but didnt mind too much! Now with Chuck off the card, I'm getting my money back!

I'd like to see Evans fight Jardine, but not as the main event.

they are on the same team and are training partners for each other... wont ever happen out side of the TUF 2 battle where Evans dropped Jardine instatly and then used his wrestling to grind out the next 10 minutes as Jardine threw some interesting combos that ****ed up Rashad but was to little to late as Rashad dominated the fight.

Just called the ticket operator and was told that I cant get my money back! That is complete BS! I'm gonna start my own fight promotion and as the main event announce i'll have Chuck Liddell, Mayweather, Calzaghe, De La Hoya, Anderson Silva, Roy Jones and GSP all square off in a last man standing battle royal! Undoubtably sell a load of tickets. Then i'll refuse to refund when all of those guys pull out!!

LOL! In fairness to the guyl I spoke to! He didnt have a clue what I was talking about with Liddell etc. The UFC is probably one of a hundred show they sell tickets for. I'm sure once the dust has cleared on this story in a week or so, I will be able to get my money back!

Sorry to hear that mate. They cover themselves by putting "Fight Card subject to change" on advertising and tickets. Ive been burned too, twice Ive bought Cage Rage tickets because Zelg Galesic was on the card and both times he pulled out

Ouch, this card was looking bad as is. Now that Chuck is out there is no way I'll pay for a PPV.

Has it been confirmed free on Spike?

Are you serious? I always thought that, that small print only applied to the undercard. They have to make an exception in this case! I'd dare say 50% of people who bought the ticket are like myself and only bought it to see Chuck! There is no way in hell, I'm letting them charge me for a Werdem v Vera Main event!

This is a shame. Plus if Rashad had pulled off the upset, we could have heard Mike Goldberg rip off and ruin one of the great moments in sports history by yelling out "Do YOU BELIEVE....in MIRACLES? YES." while somewhere out there Al Michaels' head would explode.

I just wonder, at his age....How long is it going to take for him to get back to 100%. Severe hamstring injuries like that are rough on young bucks in their prime....Chuck does not really fall into that category anymore.
"Training" eh? LOL Probably slipped & fell off the bar while grinding with some chick....Yes Chuck...everyone has seen those types of after-party pics from you.

wise decision for chuck to opt out of this fight ,Loosing to Rashad would probably mean the end for him as a serious threat anymore.

One of the only fights that I would consider main event worthy that has a chance of happening is if Henderson would move back up to 205 and him and Rashad would fight.

I mentioned this in the Leben/Bisping rumor thread, but while adding that fight would boost ticket sales simply to see Bisping, I don't think it'd do much for PPV sales.

If they wanted to keep it a PPV and still make respectable numbers, couldn't they add Lesnar and market it to the WWE people?

-Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera
-Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites
-Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman

-Neil Wain vs. Antoni Hardonk

UFC 85 Bouts (unannounced):
-Rashad Evans vs. James Irvin
-Ryo Chonan vs. Roan Carneiro
